I actually prefer the sound of WAV files vs. AIFF - at least on a Mac-based system (I know - different files types shouldn't sound different - bits is bits - maybe it's the way they're processed). So .......

I first had that problem after about 3 years of very heavy use. As I understand it, it's the drive assembly that goes bad. There's a means for re-calibrating the assembly yourself (see the link below) .......

Simply put, the V-caps provided a much more natural presentation of music in my system. With the V-caps were fully broken in there is better bass extension and control, high frequencies are more smoo .......

I've made the comparison (had the redbook for many months, then 'upgraded' to the SACD), but my system is more humble than yours. On my system, to my ears and in good ol' 2-channel the Sea Change SACD .......

I've heard from a few reputable people that you need to be very gentle with tubes while they're still warm from use...apparently they're more prone to filament damage etc. if they're jarred while warm .......

Nickel Creek. They're a trio that do 'bluegrass' that's even less traditional than Krauss and Union Station. Like AKUS they've got serious chops and are very listenable even if you're not into bluegra .......

Makes sense to me now. When the passive crossover was originally built I was using a different amp (an Adcom....don't remember which model now), and it's likely that the cross was in fact higher with .......

it can't be that difficult! With the TKD the biggest issue is mounting the attenuator. Rather than using a nut over the attenuator shaft as most do, the TKD uses three standoffs surrounding the shaft .......

perhaps also the Vivaldi depending on who the performers are. For me it's a big plus if the disc is hybrid, so that decreases the chances on the Vivaldi. WRT the Gabriel, I actually like the new disc. .......

If you have a powered sub I think the Marchand XM-9 is quite good. If you do a little work on it I think the XM-9 can be better than the Bryston. Try to go with the 'deluxe' version of the XM-9 for th .......
