I'd also suggest the Rega P8. It's really a sweet table. Bringing his LP12 up to an approx. equivalent overall performance level would require, at minimum, upgrades to the arm, cartridge, main bearing .......

I can't speak for the Arcam but I always felt that the Ikemi, while pretty competent, sounded a tad dry/buttoned down in the systems I'd heard it in(all or mostly Linn equipment of similar vintage). : .......

you'd be shocked as to how much of the Linn's expressive character is related to the mat. put it on a Rega,Oracle,Michell,etc. etc. and that table will almost always take on more than a hint of a Linn .......

Try the EMT based designs like the Roksan Shiraz, Einstein and EMT TU series MC's. They aren't the most neutral or refined but ime, the meaty, beaty, big and bouncy way they dish out tunes and melodi .......

Hi Hukk, I just swapped out the supplied power cord for a Gutwire G-Clef and that seemed to work quite nicely in my system. It gave a bit of texture, colour and smoothing without being at all detrime .......

All the Benzes that I've owned or used were tail draggers but my recollection is that they typically ran with the arm about 2-3 mm below level and at most,maybe 4 mm tail down in a worst case scenario .......

I don't know what price range you'd consider but in a valve phonostage I was very impressed with the Art Audio V1. As far as loading,I generally use a setting of 100 ohms or thereabouts for the 17D2' .......

The trick with successfully integrating the Xerxes into a system is by taking care to avoid ancillary components that lean towards the cool or light-ish in tonal balance, particularly if your present .......

not at all. The RB1000 is a fine tonearm (as are the Moerch DP6 and Naim Aro) but I do think the Artemiz is a pretty special device. It's perhaps the quickest, best timed arm I've yet encountered and .......

I would imagine that the RMat should work well with any aluminum plattered turntable but you'd need to do a simple mod if you plan to use it with turntables other than Roksan's own Xerxes' and TMS' re .......

"Homeless" is recorded just fine. Paul Simon in concert sings with very pronounced sibilant "esses". Just so you know- It drove me crazy too until I attended a warmup concert for the Born at the Right .......

Remove the "leg cut-offs" and install long spikes to the base unit. You should get a bit more stability without having to add additional mass. .......
