Speakers are most critical simply because they are the highest distortion producing component. So even though they are at the end of the line, they have the largest impact on the voice of the system. .......

Most people like it a little bit warm if not neutral. The amp is very slightly warm and would only be considered really warm if other components, especially the speakers were also. The Magnum version .......

but the Fairchild carts had flat top plates and only the lower cover was molded. The ones that had that similar metal cover were all mono, moving coil types from what I have seen also. Good guess thou .......

I guess they did it to make the grounding and shielding of the arm wire a guarantee. It also is a better ground point than most as it is direct signal ground, which is hard to accomplish with a spare .......

Yep, they sure did, some very nice ones too. This doesn't appear to be one of them though. The closest thing that I have seen to it in terms of the body design is a very old Empire cartridge, model 10 .......

Quite a few customers of mine and others who I have spoken with have preferred the Rega decks to the Scout. all of them stated that the Rega was both warmer and more energetic sounding at the same tim .......

The Tannoy DC series are excellent. The Revolution DC4 is very small however and needs a sub to be really enjoyable IMO. You should consider the DC6 instead. That's pretty awesome. For a small speaker .......

Yeah, I sell Salamander Designs cabinets as well as tube amps and we do it all the time. The shelves are adjustable and you can as you say, leave off the back panels. If you use side panels, you lose .......

The metering on the Stereo 90 and the Tempest use a lower setting due to a ma bleed circuit. The other amps - Atlas, Cronus, etc do not and the meter is read directly, so 40ma is 40ma on those. -Bill .......

You've got one or two problems here. Most likely the main culprit is the audio stand itself. That needs to be stable and not have any resonating panels or surfaces when music is played or people pass .......

It isn't quite a P3 2000 due to plinth changes as well but it's closer. The TT-PSU is a 24v unit designed to work with the new 24v AC motors. The older tables and still the P1 and P2 use 115v motors. .......

I agree with hagustos on all points. It's a decent table but you would need to use the Shure M97xE on it. The tables arm was designed specifically for the Shure V15VxMR. Anything else is a compromise .......

Yes. There is a huge difference in the performance of the cartridges. The 17D3 is currently my first choice for a great sounding LOMC cartridge. There are a few others that come close to that performa .......

Actually, that is one of the best "tweaks" that you could do. The design of the cover makes it very handy to just lift straight off. It reduces the weight of the table and can significantly reduce rum .......

That depends upon the function of the capacitor. If it is not supplying the same section as in the other player, then perhaps not. I doubt that it is any different from the present player in that rega .......
