My (weak) understanding is that slugs are very sensitive to static charges, but it could just be the general toxicity of copper - they might absorb ions through their skin or something (I should know .......

I tried a similar experiment with a thin copper tape the is designed to keep slugs out of gardens (they can't cross copper). Overall, it was kind of disappointing. The adhesive was REALLY nasty (smell .......

I pulled the transformer from an old TV tuner that I acquired for $11. It has a 185-0-185, a 5 V heater and a 6.9 V heater (all measured no load) I was lucky that it was suitable for another foreplay. .......

I know parts express stocks and carries these (I emphasize stocks because mouser carries chokes, but doesn't stock them). With PE, you have to cross reference hammond's site to figure out which model .......

If it was just an amp, it wouldn't have a volume control. If it was an integrated amp, then it would (hopefully) have a pre-amp bypass. In that case, you would use those jacks. Does this help at all? .......

After Paul's comment today about the 2K bleeder being to great of a drain on the PS, I hooked up just the 5AR4 tube (no smoothing after) and I got 165 VDC!!! Whoohooo! I also bit the bullet and ordere .......
