If you was going to EQ then if out of 20 speaker auditions you found the perfect one, you could probably do away with EQ, you probably found yourself a passive EQ that pleases the ear just enough. Les .......

I agree, purpose of the owner is key. The other recordings, yes true. So many dynamics at play. And our ears/ear canals/brains are all different, i always wonder if we can better serve our own biolog .......

Target curves yes indeed. Passive colouration from say hardware though shunned by some, would work for this Dave still? Perk of passive colouration is no getting mixed up in processing of the signal i .......

What about electronic music and its highs? If not so much upper harmonics, what about 80db and differing tolerances in other frequencies? Near comfortable/discomfort thresholds do you not think peopl .......

Say Dave likes playing loud but comfortable at 80db, but his ear's max pleasure tolerance for 10k is 82db and his 1k max pleasure tolerance is 78db. Surely neutral EQ to 80db is now an annoying experi .......

It says on amazon music, device capability 24bit 96khz, track quality 16 bit 44khz, now playing at 16 bit 44khz. Great, but, with exclusive mode also, has upsampling gone on here? 24 bit 96khz is set .......

My AE7 soundcard, i went glass optical today, it does sound less odd with sibilance, I was double DACing with analog out where sibilance sounded odd. I also noticed when going optical my windows suppo .......

Good reminder! The optic isolates the noisy PC well. And yes, glass! I need to find one. I tried looking for a qualtiy 4 metre glass cable, but the usual crowd, audioquest, QED, Chord do theirs in 3 o .......

I will try optical out, then noise is less of an issue, no noise to the AVR, and with no DAC, less time in the PC case, well, I say that, it has light conversion, whether that quicker and less prone t .......

Thanks Jonesy, but my AVR is doing crossover to the subwoofer i think? I have set it in 2ch direct/stereo settings on my Denon, i use stereo mode. Unless this whole time i have not been using crossove .......

Setup Rundown: My AE7 soundcard from my PC was bought to not use the onboard ALC897 realtek chip, well, I don't know if the ESS 9018 of the AE7 is bright harsh or just the ALC897 is very dull. Anyway, .......
