I do not understand why Dan is answering the way he has. Mike described the arm in a way that is fairly correct. The arm does not have the bells and whistles that some have come to expect in a tonearm .......

Hi Gady, When we developed the Wave Kinetics, most of the testing with digital components was actually done with the Playback Designs MPS-5. As for amplification, testing was done with the big Boulder .......

Yes, short term outsourcing costs way more but the big picture is much different. How much does it cost to have a factory with proper square footage, tooling machines and routers, assembly for boards, .......

Actually with the Playback Designs 2 dimensional DAC, the connection itself is irrelevant. Since the Playback Designs is immune to jitter, it does not matter whether you use Toslink, USB, SPDIF, AES, .......

Lynn, You are minimizing the importance of component matching. Most people have their reference system. Some might have an extra amplifier but most do not have multiple sets of speakers, amps, preamps .......

My experience is vertically biamping stereo amps is better than a pair of monoblocks, if your speakers can be biwired. It is the equivalent in some ways to 4 monoblocks. .......

The speakers used at CES, the Von Schweikert VR9SE's, did indeed have amplification for the built in subwoofer, but not for the two woofers per cabinet. They were being driven by the darTZeel NHB-108 .......

You may be underestimating the importance of remaining in DSD vs conversion back to PCM. The EMM Labs converts PCM to DCD while the Esoteric converts SACD to PCM. What's wrong with this picture? ::: T .......

I use them on the Tenor Audio amplifiers and there was a substantial improvement. The background became blacker and I seemed to hear deeper into the reording. I used the HAL-O 9's on the 12ax7's, 6h30 .......
