A Grant Fidelity A-534. 300b integrated. Came with upgraded Shuguang/Psvane tube package. The sound is quite different from the 2a3c. At first it almost seemed too rich in the midrange. But I got use .......

Pity, I'm in Hartford too and I just sold my MP-2a3c. You could have heard for yourself. I liked it a lot, but certainly room for improvement. And it does not sound like a 300b. I would characterize .......

I don't have USB on my receiver, I'm connecting USB -> external soundcard's SPDIF out -> SPDIF in on the receiver. If it is working the same way, you need to disable other sound outputs in Playback De .......

Success! Bought a Soundblaster Live 24bit External. Disabled on board sound and the SB Live Analog. Played a 5.1 channel track in beautiful surround!!! Interestingly, the Control Panel SPDIF connectio .......

Here is some additional info I've found that maybe of interest to someone researching a similar problem. The PC Link product I refer to in my original post has a DAC built in. It is a 2 channel device .......

I took the machine apart, did find one set of jumpers, no idea what they're for. What do you think it means that the devices show 5.1 or 7.1 when Windows Audio Service is disabled? I think I probably .......

An interesting development: I disabled the Windows Audio Service, & Windows Audio Endpoint Builder Service. WinDVD made available SPDIF passthrough and allowed multichannel audio. Of course no sound a .......

Volume variation might suggest the computer was multitasking while ripping. Try re-ripping and make sure the computer is doing nothing else but ripping. I assume you are using your soundcard as your D .......

Auto. All Advanced Audio Setups unchecked. Audio Output Config dims out all except Analog Sound Card. Speaker Config dims out all but 2 channel & headphone. Test is dimmed out too. .......

Download Audacity - free audio editor for Windows (don't think there is a Mac version). It's your recording software. Use it to edit out pops, and split the file into tracks. Hardware - I've got the .......

So, I download & install WinDVD, go to Aduio setup. "Digital SPDIF out to External Processor" is disabled. Only choice is analog. It seems to be hardware or driver related. the USB devices use the ge .......
