with the preamp I built, with output transformers, what I eventually went with was the Sylvania 27 mesh plate. It is one of the most superb tube I have ever heard. The fine mesh plate, not course mesh .......

the voltage is the same. 6.3 volts but the current draw of the heater is 200mA vs 7193 specs that call for a 300mA. Yes, if designed for the 200mA it should last longer but the tube also measures lowe .......

I have many 1193/CV6/6S5S tubes. They all have a 300mA heater draw and measure from 2700 to 3300 for mutual conductance with a minim acceptable of 1900. The plate current varies on the tube and is .......

some emissions testers can actually damage tubes because of the way they apply the voltage. I have used Hickok testers for a long time and can get some very consistent results from one to the other. .......

not be good to use a 6BQ5. I have the EV versions of the Russian tube and find it to do very well. I also have late 50's Mullards, Amperex and a slew of others and 7189s and find the Russian in the EV .......

put in another screw, no sense to that. I just build up the heat shrink a little more so the screw doesn't go into the wire and will hold the cable solid. They look very fine and can't beat the price .......

I use Furutech, and have for some time but the issue with them is, that in not too long a time the plating wears off. For the cost, this shouldn't be happening. While the 3.5 isn't ideal, it can work .......

as mine throw a large deep soundstage and often is better than live music that I hear and better imaging. I would like something smaller at times, a nice 2 way on stands. ' .......

I don't see much posted on these speakers. I have owned a pair for a long time. The imaging and general sound quality are excellent. Seems they are little referenced though. .......

settings on in the camera. You can change it to more vivid etc. As far as the focus, normally if it is close focussing it should be working for the distance. I would check it outside and see how it lo .......

is that I don't have the transparency, the layering I have with a good rip of the same album. Sure I can listen to the music, it is not offensive but neither does it draw me in; part of the listening .......
