I too think it may be the Volume Pots and or switches. Perform a simply experiment; With the unit turned off, twist the Volume Pot all the way from minimum to maximum 30-40 times rather quickly. Then .......

Check out VUDU. Quality is better, no membership, just pay when you rent, and they have a 99 cent movie everyday (often pretty good) .......

VMPS still offers L-Pads on the Analog X-Overs. As well there is also a Digital XO option which has the same relative function. Very few speakers have the exact same output over a wide range of SPLs, .......

The likely culprit is "ceiling bounce" reflections drawing the image and soundstage upwards. Only cure is to eliminate that reflection by treating the ceiling with acoustic damping. .......

You are correct the VMPS RM-2 is rated at 20Hz -3 and the VMPS RM40 is 22Hz -3, but it is the "quality" of the bass in that region that is also important. Brian has some of the lowest bass distortion .......

Obviously you mean DQ10, and I have had 4 pair of them and still have one pair in the closet (hint, hint, they are available) I powered them with bridged Citation 16a amps (around 350wpc @ 8 ohms) Act .......
