Yes, the original Quad ESL is phase-inverting. You can check it the same way as a dynamic woofer, with a 9V battery. Just watch one of the the bass panels when you connect and disconnect the battery, .......

5751s are reasonable in the line stage, but the phono stage RIAA EQ is, I believe, done with feedback so substituting 5751 for the 12AX7s would alter the equalization. A number of the old phono stages .......

Another good tube unit, when modified, is the Dynaco SCA-35, however I recommend it only if you are willing to do a fair amount of DIY, because with old units the minimum is replacing the electrolytic .......

The Eroica H cartridge is a "high output" MC, which means that it has about the same voltage output as an MM cartridge, should work fine with any MM phono stage, and does NOT need a step-up transforme .......

Probably because you have adequate power supplies that can buffer any quick changes in voltage (which is what happens when the lights dim). The dedicated power circuits might help too, as they may not .......

The Sony 2250 is, as far as I know, a DC direct drive turntable, which means that the motor must be driven by a DC voltage. The turntable has a built in power supply which takes the AC power line volt .......

Here's my problem. I forgot my password so I've followed the procedure to get a new password. Each time the website says they've sent a new password to my e-mail, but hasn't appeared in either my regu .......
