This preamp has always had my interest too. I have often wondered what it would sound like in my system and would consider it if in need of a new preamp or just wanted to try something new. Not to mud .......

Agree. Quiet is not my top priority either. Sonics is my top priority. However noticeable tube hiss from the listening position is a deal breaker for me. Have some tubes that don't do as well as other .......

I happened to notice the silver plating option on the same cable on just a few of the sizes, such as 6ft, 10ft, and 15ft. Not on the others. Decided to go for it. It only added about $2.50 to the cost .......

I also experience different levels of tube hiss with the 12AX7's in my Calypso but nothing noticeable at the listening position. I need to put my ears up near the tweeter to hear it. For me it is more .......
