As an experiment, you could connect the DAC directly to the amp, and control the volume with the PC. I connect my CD player direct to my 2A3 tube amps, and it sounds better direct than with my Bottleh .......

I'd suggest using Dynamat (or a similar product). Generally found in auto stereo shops. Just a few small strips will help. Maybe a local shop would give you a few scrap pieces. .......

If I were after vibration damping between the case and cover, I'd definitely use something thicker than teflon (which I don't understand in this application). Either a rubber or foam tape, or a tar-ba .......

that this tweak is mainly meant for carpeted floors, where the carpeting can store static electricity. If you don't have carpeting, I don't see where merely elevating the cables will do anything unles .......

Clamp the wood in the saw when making miter cuts - you'll get nice corners. Also, check that the blade is square to the base of the saw, and that you're getting a true 45 degree cut. .......

Following the advice received here, I installed a hum pot in the amp, and was able to reduce the hum down to around 1mV. Whoo-Hoo!! I experimented with a hum pot once before, but I did not understand .......

Have you done some serious troubleshooting? Perhaps in changing outlets you damaged a wire or connection somewhere. If you've installed numerous outlets in the same box, a wire could have become kinke .......

Try a plastic or wooden spatula - something wide with a fairly sharp edge, but that won't damage the finish. Slowly work this underneath the Dynamat while pulling up on it. It may leave some residue, .......

My impression after hearing these speakers in both rooms was that there was poor integration between the woofer and the horns. The frequencies were there, but I could definitely hear the separation be .......

There is also a pair of Wright 2A3 amps on Audiogon for $1000. These are fairly compact amps, and you should not be disappointed with them at all. I'd also strongly suggest a Bottlehead Foreplay pream .......

It seems like a fair price with all the tubes. I've seen these units generally selling for $750-850 on Audiogon. .......

Maybe you should verify that it's your cables that are causing the problem. Find a friend with some cables and gear that you can swap into your system to identify the real problem. .......

The Jaco Pastorius Big Band "Word of Mouth Revisted". It features many of todays top players covering Jaco's material with his original big band. A GREAT album! .......

I bought mine from an Ebay seller in Taiwan, but I believe these are the same units. Perhaps you should check with someone who posted in the discussion I linked to. .......

I've used the AudioQuest BFA bananas on my last two pairs of speaker cables, and they are excellent. Very tight fit, and nice sonics. .......

I used some wide tube dampers on the output tubes to hold the board down on the tube side, and a bit of rope caulk between the board and the chassis on the opposite side. If wide enough, the tube damp .......
