I know someone that was inserting a 3/8" or 1/2" tube in the center and then covering the whole thing with polyolefin heat shrink. It's pretty easy to do. Makes for a pretty stiff cable. He was a Kimb .......

Like the other posters, I build up the outside diameter of the cable to have a snug fit inside the barrel of the RCA plug. I usually use a bit of cable jacket that I strip from another cable. I think .......

Hi Brainiac, The easiest is a twisted pair; one lead for hot and the other for ground. You can twist up the wire using en electric drill or by hand. You can also do a tri-braid, similar to Kimber PBJ .......

As a general rule, I always power up my preamp, tube DAC and Seduction phono stage and let them warm up for about 30 seconds or so prior to powering up my amp. When powering down, reverse the sequence .......

Matt, Reheating every joint won't hurt if your careful. Gut feeling though is that will not help much. If you have good mechnical connections, sound in both channels, and your readings are within spec .......

Steve's right, different tubes can make a big difference in the sound from the Seduction. I too upgraded from a Little Rat. In my system the Seduction absolutely kills it. Not even in the same ballpar .......

You can only use a TubeDac or any other stand-alone DAC with a CD or DVD player that has a digital output(s). All DVD players have digital outputs. The older higher end CD players and a lot of the new .......

I haven't used Corian for tube sockets specifically, but have used it for front face plates for both a preamp and DAC. Great stuff to work with. It does melt and distort though at a relatively low tem .......

I have used a Pioneer DV-414 and it's pretty close to my Arcam Alpha 8 when used as a transport with my Nixon TubeDac. The Arcam edges out the Pioneer slightly. For the $800+ I spent on the Arcam year .......

A stereo attenuator in a Foreplay is pretty easy to implement and is a good idea. You would just have to plug or cover up one of the holes in your Foreplay chassis. Dual mono attenuators in the Forepl .......

I would take back those 6 position switches and get the 12 position ones. Even though you could build attenuators with 6 position switches, the dB steps would be so large that it would drive you crazy .......

I've never used steel wool for fear of contaminating the inner works of a transformer. I just use some fine sandpaper to rough everything up, good grey primer and then top coat. I use drinking straws .......

Jeff, Thanks for the description. Wow....sounds like things are rockin at Poth Audio! By clunky I meant the "not so precise and jerky" feeling you get while rotating through the positions on something .......
