Having both types on hand, single coil/single channel plus my fave stereo carts, I do not hear the single channel mono cartridges as "superior" soundwise. However, I do hear the mono carts as "quiete .......

These are great opts; very underrated in their bandwidth. They do have a tertiary feedback tap which may or not come in handily with your planned circuit. It is not an easy task to find 5K 100W rated .......
