What has helped me the most: 1) Make your best effort to isolate the table and make sure it's level. 2) Get a SERIOIUS tonearm. I put this in caps because it made such an impact on my analog playback .......

There happens to be one on eBay right now, and if it stays at the opening price, it is certainly worth $20 more than the remaster. The original US Reprise is lifeless, and it's nice to know a remaster .......

Well, if any of you get a chance to grab the first UK pressing, which is still an Island records release (the Green Chrysalis label with a white "i" on the top) you may find the clarity and detail .......

Sorry to sound opinionated, but the remaster of this classic (RSD edition, limited to 3,000 copies) was the equivalent of turning up the bass on your 1970's receiver, so Clive Bunker's kick drum start .......

US pressings can be excellent, it just seems to take more effort to find the good ones, as there is lots of variation as I'm sure you know. I should probably try to find Piros pressings of my favorite .......

Almost all of my gear is down there so it applies. Very convenient when I want to crank things up at 2AM. Mineral wool stuffed in the drop ceiling does a great job of soundproofing! Does get a little .......

Which PIO caps do you recommend in this application? I can't find any specs on the Stephens 80FR but I know that they sold them with optional tweeters that always get snatched up for big dollars on eB .......

The brand name on the amp is AMD and it looks to be a Japanese make from early 70s. Did I mention that the two 12AX7s were changed out to 12AU7s so the assumption about lowering the gain could well be .......

I bought a no name SE integrated amp an noticed that a 6CG7 was in the ECC85/6AQ8 spot. In the circuit the ECC85 is before the 6BQ5s and after a pair of 12AX7s. Any ideas why this might be used beside .......
