That those are NOS (new old stock) cartridges from around the early 1980's. ADC has been out of business for over 20 years AFAIK. I used to use an XML Mk.II in my system, but prefered the Denon DL-110 .......

The importance of arm/cartridge matching is in the resonance freq. Basically, you want that number to be between 8Hz and 12Hz. Too high causes problems with tracking/distortion on low music frequencie .......

I haven't listened to the HR824s, but I have listened to the HR624s, which I think have the same tweeter. I wasn't impressed, seemed to lack detail and air compared to similar offerings from Dynaudio .......

Absolutely. Blue Seven in particular may be my favourite track of the album. Its a very, very simple blues, but the way Rollins and co. does it is just incredible. Classic jazz right there, no doubt. .......

They had a CD player and I was using my own CDs. There was a bad ground loop as well, but it didn't get in the way. Regarding the Mackie HR824s, they are around $500 CDN more than the Dynaudios, Tanno .......

I'm not sure if they were set up differently, but they sounded better this time. The bass was nice and tight. I think the Tannoys have a midbass bloom to them which makes them sound nice and big, but .......

I remember it being very good sounding, well balanced with all instruments sitting about equal. I would say the mix is warm and a bit laid back compared to say some of my Blue Notes, but I never found .......

I noticed some sibilance on the 30th anniv. DSOTM, but it was minor and certainly didn't detract from the experience. Most of that seemed to disappear anyways when I changed from an ADC XLM to a Denon .......
