Thom, The HD 6010 antenna is an omni directional unit with roughly the same gain as the MD ST it replaced. You've confirmed this by rotating the antenna and not seeing any signal strength difference a .......

WTS, Have you checked the simple things first? The interconnect between the tuner and preamp. Pull the IC and reinsert a couple of times, see if that clears it, if NOT swap the IC L & R wires and see .......

Without making any excuses there was a mistake in my report. With the cross section of the individual conductors at approximately 2.9mm the area is then 6.61 sq. mm which is indeed 9 AWG. My apologies .......

Yes that's absolutely true, that's why you typically don't muck with the cap type in the front end, the key being RF frequencies, figure 100MHz for FM. Now once you hit the IF stage the frequency drop .......

OK, in the metric system going from micro to pico means you move the decimal point 6 places to the right filling in the missing places with 0s. The ceramic is clearly marked .0047, moving the decimal .......

Since your's has already been aligned, I would pull and measure what the cap is now since the cap is in the adjustment circuit. Then match that value with the replacement cap or caps. Just get as clos .......

A polypro will be fine, since you've had an alignment, pull and measure the ceramic. Try to match the size of the ceramic with a film. That way you won't alter the separation adjustment. And yes the p .......

You may want to look at the MPX board supplied by Bob Fitzgerald. It is designed around the LM4500 MPX IC and works well with an S3000. Performs better than a tube based MPX, quieter, better separatio .......

Kico, When you look at a wedge base lamp there are 2 sorta U shaped contact wires at the base. Straighten out one of the contacts and look closely where the two legs of the U go into the glass envelop .......

Hi, I have not spent a lot of time with an LS 9 & it is solid state versus tube BUT ARC is serious about it being powered up 24/7. There is a tangible difference between one that has been on for 24+ .......

You may want to look at an ARC LS8 MkII. The MarkII was released in late 99 and was the ARC replacement for the discontinued LS 15. Available well within your budget even with new tubes & tube dampene .......

MIchael, I have & currently use an EC-21 in my system. I dug out the manual & ARC has a kit for a 125 Hz 18Db slope. It doesn't identify the caps to use but I know that if you call ARC (763-577-9700) .......

Hi, You seem to have the belt maintainance thing under control. Have you checked to make sure that the plinth and the sprung chassis are dead level, both directions? Use a GOOD level, not the one imb .......

Dick, My 2 cents for what its worth, having owned, used, currently own both DD & BD tables, one of the more important single items at least in my experience is the cartridge. My bias is toward a nice .......
