I'll second the DL-102. I've been using one for two months now with excellent results. It works extremely well with Garrard 301/SME 3012/Orsonic AV-101 combination but I realise that this is quite an .......

I believe they can. I have a boxed set of 12 classical 33 1/3 rpm records from Soviet Union bought by the original owner in the mid-fifties in Leningrad and they seem to be made of shellac. Interestin .......

Here is Garrard 301 belonging to Finnish musician M.A. Numminen. He bought it in 1959 and it has a Bang & Olufsen ST/P tonearm, similar to one I used in my own 301 before changing it for SME 3012. Pic .......

I haven't tried anything else. I had originally set my eyes on Ortofon T-30 but they usually go much higher at eBay. Anyway, 320 works very well with DL-103R and I intend to stay with it for now. Juha .......

I love the Slatedeck and it is certainly big step forward sonically from its previous incarnation but I can't compare it to a Garrard in wood or MDF plinth as I have never heard one. My Garrard's orig .......

Most of the 3012 II's I have heard about have five digit serial numbers. There's is now at eBay #34424 (single piece counter weight) and other recent items have included #27122 (single piece?), #29558 .......

I don't think there exists a suitable mono cart for this arm (though I'm quite happy if somebody proves I'm wrong) although other B&O carts might fit. At least SP7 & SP9 do look quite similar to the S .......

I'm using Basik Plus in Linn Axis with Ortofon MC 20 Super II and it works and sounds fine even if low output moving coils are not recommended for this arm. .......

You use it before you play, just like in the picture. I used to use it before every single play. I never noticed any harmful effects excluding the danger of damaging tha labels, that I already mention .......

Early albums on Paramount are best. My favorite is "Live from Deep in the Heart of Texas" (Paramount PAS 1017, 1974). Sounds like they were better live than in the studio. .......
