I agree. I have had both black and white 3.6's/3.7's here. The off white blends much better with the walls which makes them look smaller. .......

Not lower but the bass is not as controlled and articulate which could explain why you find it warmer. I had 3.6īs prior to my current 3.7īs, have not Heard the "i". .......

I agree with Swamis, my 3.7īs work great on the shortwall (firing down the length of the room) in a similarly sized room. ....also, on the long wall you would be too close to the speakers. IMHO, with .......

I asked Magnepan about this when I ordered my 3.7īs, the answer was NO. The stiles are attached to the speakers in such a way they do not have an effect on the performance/stiffness. I went with the c .......

I personally didnīt hear a huge difference between the 3.6īs, which I owned for 12 years, and my current 3.7īs. The biggest difference is that the 3.7 is more coherent sounding. .......

Iīm using 3.6īs on the short wall in a room about the same size as yours. They are 5ft from the front wall and approx 15" from the sides. Much easier to get the Magnepans sound right than the Logan hy .......

Many thanks. I believe the MKI preamps are considered warmer, more tubey sounding than the MKIIīs with the 6H30 tubes. .......

Thanks, Iīm also considering the 300.2 which Iīve heard should be an excellent match with the MG3.6īs. More power and better bass control but perhaps not the cream-sweet midband tonality of the VT-amp .......

IMHO the Maggie 3.6 is superior to the DCI. I found the DCI a bit too thin sounding. (I used to own the ES 240MD) .......

I went from Logan hybrids to 3.6īs mostly due to the integration issue. I also found the smaller panels a bit skeletal sounding (very transparent though) while the woofers sounded too fat and "slow". .......

I once did a comparison between the SL-3īs and an old pair of 801īs. (not the current model) The B&Wīs sounded extremely "boxy" and dark compared to the much airier and larger soundstage of the Logans .......

Iīve owned the old MGIIaīs and they are not even close to the current models. IMHO, the 3.6/Rīs (with the famous ribbon tweeter) have more extended highs than the Logans, regarding bass; the reQuests .......

Havenīt heard the Ascents but prior to my current Maggie 3.6īs I owned Sequel IIīs, SL-3īs and reQuests. IMHO, the Magnepans are more coherent sounding ("single driver" sound) with better bass; taught .......

I second the locking style bananas. The WBT 0645 works great on my 3.6īs. I had both the WBT 0660 spades and the 0645 bananas on my Logans but I was never able to hear any difference between them. :: .......

For jazz/vocal you would definitely be better off with the Magnepans. The Logans have stronger but not as articulate bass as the Maggies and the highs of the 3-series Maggies are (IMHO) superior to th .......

I believe the 3.5 was manufactured between 94 and 98, the 3.6 debuted at the CES 99. They come with two boxes (three here in europe since the ribbon tweeters are shipped in a tube) Sorry, canīt commen .......

I used to play my old MG-IIAīs quite loud so I remember the problems with the mylar hitting the magnet. Iīve never experienced this on my 3.6īs though. Happy listening. .......

I went from ML reQuests to 3.6īs and Iīve never regretted the decision. Logans can be a bit "skeletal" sounding while Maggies have a warmer voicing. I also found the reQuestīs bass somewhat slow and b .......

Youīd be better off with two separate sets, biwiring within a single cable is a compromise. My Maggie 3.6īs are hooked up with a double run of AudioTruth Argent (12 AWG silver/copper hybrid) Happy New .......

The Scandinavian, German, etc. distributor for Magnepan is located in Sweden where I live so itīs very easy to get a pair of Maggies here. I paid something like $8500 (Gee!?) for my 3.6īs. ::: TOPIC:: .......

What sonic difference did you notice between copper and silver? What about using a very short length of the silver based Kimbers (4/8 AG) with WBT bananas. Iīve heard that silver wires work great as j .......

AQ actually recommends silver for highs and copper for lows. Iīm using a double run of AQ Argent (silver/ copper hybrid) with my Magnepan 3.6īs, but thatīs probably overkill. Perhaps Iīd be even bette .......

Yes, according to Magnepan the later adhesive took care of the UV problems. I remember that my old MGIIAīs (from 1980) had some kind of sticky green glue on their backs and it was not a good idea to e .......

I used the WBT 0645īs (I also had the WBT 0660 spades, couldnīt hear any difference) with the reQuests and I still use them with my Maggie 3.6īs. Itīs probably the best banana out there. (www.wbtusa.c .......
