As a choral singer, I just love the Monteverdi Choir in this rep. I also have the Rilling on LP, as well as Shaw. But for HIP the Gardiner is my go-to. .......

Hmmm, well, I used to have a biggish, open room and it was interesting finding speakers that were happy playing Wagner and Mahler. One of the best systems for large scale classical music I heard once .......

I imagine they'll do fine with a summer HP release. Too bad it won't be in IMAX to start, that'll lose 'em a few million. But world wide they should rake in the cash. I never apologize for liking HP. .......

HP was intended to bow in regular theaters and IMAX simultaneously. Box office figures have shown the studios actaully do better numbers that way - certainly a bigger take goes to the studio at the fr .......

...stands apart from much of Antonioni's oevre. I just saw it again recently and it's still very powerful. Maybe I'm more "cerbral", who knows? The Conversation is tremendously exciting to me. :-) I l .......

However. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the "equal" of The Conversation. It's well worth seeing, and surely one of Depalma's best, but it's not at possess the quality or sophistication of The Co .......
