The FMods ARE 12 db/octave. I see that the 20db and 30db high pass inline filters are the ones for me to consider. I called Harrison Labs and spoke to the technician. They manufacture these devices. H .......

There are LOTS of variables that will probably make what works best different for different setups. I am hearing best results (depending on cartridge and VTF) with much lower ASF than (around 25%, or .......

Thanks for your reply. The designer (Ken Kantor) put the strips there to reduce the ratio of reflected to direct sound for better imaging. I wonder if the trade-off is a narrower sound-stage. I am hop .......

Seems to be marketing hype. The capaictor passes the AC signal through, which means the flow of electrons reverses directions at the frequency of the signal. If electrons flow both ways/back and forth .......

45 wpc C-J tube amp has plenty of punch on top, combined with 300 wpc monoblocks on the bottom end via active crossover. I recently switched out SS for tubes on the top end, and I like it! ::: TOPIC: .......

The following tips and tools are useful: A good felt brush can pull most debris up from the grooves and onto the surface before wet cleaning. A strip of Scotch Tape can remove what the felt brush dug .......

Seems to me that the Watts brush is better at getting into the gooves, as the bristles are thinner. On the downside, the bristles on the Watts brush are not as stiff as the VPI, requiring a little mor .......

John, I really like my OC9. It takes a lot to admit that a $300 MC is in the same league with a $4000 MC. Perhaps the long cantilever is not such a bad thing, particularly in combination with the micr .......

The L-07D does not have a vacuum platter. It uses inner spindle mounted weight and outer stabilizer ring ala TNT HR-X. Platter mat was stainless steel which is non-magnetic and sheilded the cartridge .......

Today's discovery... I played an LP today that had previously been "cleaned", by Carbon brush and Discwasher, and stored in a new clean poly liner. Snap, crackle, and pop. I ran the carbon fiber brush .......

I own the Hi-Fi News test record and the Shure Audio Obstacle Course test record. Neither has a 3000 Hz test tone section. 3KHz is the standard test frequency for wow and flutter meters, which is why .......
