Start by removint the tubes and cleaning the tube sockets. I've had some static noise in one of my model 2 - I've cleaned the variable damping potentiometer and bias/balance selector and the noise was .......

I think that it's a killer cartridge and a real bargian. It's very natural and musical doesn't sound colored like most Koetsus or thin and hi-fi'ish like the top Vandenhuls. It has got the right balan .......

My direct drive, Technics SP10, doesn't spin the motor when the platter is taken off. You probably just need to put on the platter and it'll work. .......

You can retrofit the 075 tweeters but you'll need the N7000 HF networks. IMO, 077 will sound much better. The 075's were offered as part of the S8R component package which have the 375 midrange driver .......

You can see the exact same tubes (dimpled top with crimped plated) branded as International Servicemaster, National, Siemens, Sylvania. These are east german tubes and that's a fact. .......

Well, I am the seller of this Koetsu. The cantilever is not bent but very very little off center, which is very common with Koetsus. FYI, it can be repaired/readjusted with a simple rubber suspension .......

My Eico HF-81 did a very nice job, driving a pair of L-300s. It was in a small room (14x12) and I think that the scott will work nicely too but it depends on your room size. .......

Try switching all tubes (include preamp section) between left and right channels. If the problem occurs on the other channel then it can be a tube after all. .......

I ran them in triode mode and it is an easy change. I would'nt recommend trying different output tubes on an original 8B since it might require changes that will lower its value by collectors. I've ra .......

So you've probably got fakes.There was only one kind of xf1's that didn't have holes.This kind had a single round getter with double support but they are very rare. .......

There are fake Mullard xf1. They have the Mullard shield logo but instead "made in Great-Britain" they indicate "British made" and have no hole in the guide pin. .......

The Triangle Titus are nice monitors and whithin your budget. They sound great with tubes. .......

They don't worth it. I have sold my 10B about 3 months ago and kept the Scott 4310 and the Kenwood 600T. The Scott is much better than the 10B. .......
