The LP12 was a great table for me for 20 years, but the only thing I miss is that the Rega arm I had mounted on it was easier to cue than the Audio Technica arm on the 401. So that may be an upgrade i .......

I don't know that particular recording, but it might be a result of the two choirs utilized, so that you hear the one on the left for one chorale, and for the next, the choir on the right. ::: TOPIC:: .......

My favorite is the the Callas-di Stefano-Karajan performance on EMI/Angel. It's mono, though, so that might be a problem for you in terms of sonics (but I think it sounds fine). Another excellent reco .......

There are quite a few "not half bad" arms on the 70's Japanese turntables, it seems. I've been wondering about removing one from its deck and using it on the Garrard 401 as a 2nd arm for 78 carts, etc .......

Yes, beware the wider shelves -- I have an Ikea unit (not sure of the name) that is deep enough for lp's, but eventually the wide "non-structural" shelves sagged from the weight of a shelf full of lp' .......

The orange label British-pressed STS's (avoid the American pressings like the plague, though) are the next best thing to original bluebacks/English Deccas (maybe just as good!) Love the Mendelssohn/Ma .......

The speakers are B&W CDM 1 SE's (sensitivity of 88 db, I think). They sound good with the SS B&K ST140 -- that's 100 watts or so, but I would like to try something tubier, I think. I'm getting an old .......
