Good question. You will need to ask around to find the point where the high freqs are no longer supported by the flair rate of the horn. Then use simple calculations to determine the R and C using av .......

Go active. The best way is to use an active cross, with a horn compensation circuit. This uses a series resistor that you bypass with a capacitor, to compensate for the flair rate of the horn. Exampl .......

The resistor is not needed. Just join all grds together. The ground is carried to your amp or source by the interconnect cable. You might want to line the wood case with some copper or Al. shielding, .......

Nicks right. Your just not gaining enough volume due to the subs active crossover's gain. If this was one of my crossovers that I build for folks, I would set one of the OP amps stages for more gain. .......

You can use 82248 instead of the 89248. It's cheaper and has the same core. I get mine by the foot from RatShark.;-) I've ordered it from my local store. Too bad they discontinued the 1506A, dang it! .......

I would guess that 24 feet of wire should be enough. Remember, some of the wire should be left untwisted, as you just need a single run in several places. BTW, I ran out of wire when I built my Parag .......

You should be OK. You can calculate this if you can get some specs, or just look at it like I do: My Paraglows have a 1 amp fuse. I figure they pull about .75A each. Preamps are very low at say 1/3A .......

I would not use an inductor down this low. You might try an ACTIVE 24db/oct filter at about 40hz to 45hz, plus an EQ boost, if the woofer can take it. Then play with sub placement and phase. Most all .......

Might work with out a pot, if your real lucky... Depends on other things like the input sensitivity of the amps. I have a similar setup. Altecs with Paraglows and Van Alstine 70i amp run in triode mo .......

Great Kit! But mine are no where near 95db. More like 91.5bdb. I use 2A3 amps also, and have found that the Arias do not have much dynamic range compared to the Hammer Super 12s or better yet the Alt .......

It seems the spiral wrapped safety ground of the DIY 83802 ect, is very important to the sound quality. Shouldn't it be shielded? The 89259 sheilding should work well for this, grounded at the AC lin .......

The 24ga should work fine, although my first choice might be the 21.5ga. I just used 26ga magnet wire in my Welborne Labs Passive, and can hear no problems. Some like even smaller wire! Best, Greg R. .......

Actually, it should work as you first had it wired, using the two "hot" leads. With AC, one trans lead is pos while the other is neg. The diodes reference one of the leads as hot and the other as neg .......
