My Audio Rearch LS15 has a "Direct" input which bypasses all but the volume control. Audible Illusions may have a mode like this too. .......

Hi Len, The bottles should have a 6SN7 printed on them, especially if they are NOS. Sounds like they are 6SL7's since that type does have higher gain. I would not use them in your gear until you can v .......

It really does depend on the application-- in what equipment the tubes are being used. Many 6SN7 junkies rave on the 1952 Sylvanias over anything produced in the 40's. All I can say is give them a sho .......

I use a VK-60 and I would take Steve's advise and try switching your tubes between channels to eliminate that variable. If no change, then try reversing your LR inputs and see if the hum follows the i .......

Those are basically GE 6SN7GTB's with side getters, rebranded for Raytheon. Not the greatest vintage 6SN7 you can get, but probably better than the Sovteks, depending on the equipment in which you pla .......

I have a Pioneer DV45A in my system and it's not a bad little player. No HDCD but SACD and DVDA and it reads most all CDR formats. It compares nicely to my Cairn Fog V2 with upsampling. Available at E .......

I've had this dac now since October of 2002 and find it to be very refined, laid back and transparent. I use balanced outputs throughout my system mainly because of the gain/lower noise floor factor. .......

I recently sold my 9000ES and purchased the SA-14. I find that it has a touch more detail than the Sony (not a lot, but it seems to have a bit more transparency) and definitely a more authorative bott .......
