That was a great review, thanks for posting. There was a room at RMAF last month with a pair set up on a table driven by some kind of integrated cd player/amp (arcam maybe?) and it sounded fantastic. .......

Kind of. It's a modded tripath amp from redwineaudio.com called the Clari-T. I haven't heard the sonic impact but by all accounts I've read the Clari-T is a massive improvement over it. It sounds kill .......

They're a steal at the prices they sell for, and I'm not sure how much luck you'll have in finding a better speaker for less than their list price. You might gain more on the low end with a cheaper fu .......

I have footers made of sorbothane (www.pandathumbaudio.com), and obviously I think it's a terrific material to use. Be sure you read their design guide though... the resonant frequency of the material .......

You have to select which digital inputs are assigned to each channel (i.e. coax to cdp, toslink 1 to dvd, etc.). The easiest way to do this is to hook up a tv to it and go into the system configuratio .......

try putting some sorbohtane between the speakers and the granite. mcmaster.com sells strips of 2" wide x 0.25" thick for about $20. these can be cut into small squares, and they'll do wonders for you. .......

sorbothane is great under speakers... expect even better results if you optimize the size of the pads you're using. theoretically they should be ~1.5" square by 0.2" thick for 50lb. speakers, and ~1.2 .......

At my last job we used a product called Nitto tape to cover and protect optical surfaces. It's very thin and durable, and has no adhesive (van derwaal's forces cause the adhesion as far as i remember) .......

those are just hemispheres. once-size-fits-all isn't a good approach with sorbothane, especially in this application. what i'm using is rectangular in shape, and the size is determined based on the we .......

yeah, i missed that. sorry. my speakers are sitting sorbothane with granite slabs (12"x18"x3") beneath them. they're extremely stable, far more so then when they were sitting on spikes on top of carpe .......

my personal opinion is that sorbothane is the way to go (as long as it's done right). you need to design the sorbothane so that it has the right resonant frequency: the speaker is coupled to the stand .......

what are your speakers sitting on? i bought two granite surface plates, put dense viscoelastic foam under them (to isolate them from the floor) and sorbothane between them and the speakers. the sorbot .......

it depends on what you want to do with it... sorbothane has to be engineered, if you just stick a bunch of it under your equipment it's likely that it won't do much good (it may end up worsening thing .......
