In my car probably not. Road noise will likely swamp any advantages of higher res. Plus the car stereo is nothing exceptional quality wise. 16/44 will be just fine. But it looks like a good player, & .......

I've been using an M-Audio Audiophile 192 and the Audiophile 96 for over 5 years now. Never a problem. There are better soundcards out there for sure, & the Delta software is nothing spectacular eithe .......

Just got one to replace my E-MU 0404 USB. Definitely an improvement SQ-wise. Not being brave enough to get one on ebay from China, I got it from Pacific Valve for $30-40 more. It took a week for them .......

Actually it's probably more of an issue with E-MU 0404 USB & Linux Mint. I run USB to the EMU & than Coax out to my DAC. But some DAC's will play back the files & others won't. I have a Denon 3805 in .......

If you rip your files to flac, they will have tags, & thus will be much easier to organize with a media player. I personally hate Itunes, because it will scatter files all over your 1TB drive in a man .......

I tried Ubuntu Studio briefly over the holidays. During my brief testing I thought it didn't sound as good as Linux Mint Gloria. This was using a E-MU 0404 USB outputting via SPDIF 75ohm coax to a DAC .......

I have a 192 in a secondary system. Yes, it resamples 192 to 176.4. I've used ASIO with no problems. Kernel Streaming works fine. And yes, the latest driver flat out didn't work. G .......

I'm pretty sure that if a piece of software attenuates volume it has to do it in the digital domain and "remove bits". Unless the software is controlling the the analog output of a soundcard, how else .......

Itunes seems to control the volume digitally. If the Itunes volume is not all the way up, I don't believe you're getting a full 16 bits worth of resolution. I base this on the fact that I lose HDCD lo .......

Intel or Pentium ? It'll still work fine. My Athlon XP 2400 with 512 mb RAM plays music as well as my P4 2.8. On the latter I can do more stuff while music is playing though. I'd recommend at least do .......

Right of the bat it was giving me bit pure output. HDCD material properly decoded. Compared a track or two with Foobar2000 using kernal streaming. Sounds warmish compared to Foobar2000. Nice sounding .......
