It seems that you have done all the mic calibration steps for the Denon for channel level distance and EQ. Are you sure that the Oppo is not doubling up on any of those settings itself via its own DSP .......

Those 2 new custom fields are all that I found necessary to add in JRiver. Composer, artist, etc. etc. and all the other fields necessary for comprehensive classical tagging are already defined in JRi .......

There are a number like that from 2L. But, it is not really a perfect comparison because all 2Ls are recorded in DXD, then that is converted to the 96k or 192k PCM for the BD-As and converted to DSD f .......

Robert - You would need a one-time, initial setup of the Oppo with a monitor. Then, it does not need the monitor for any types of disks but Blu-rays. It's not an Oppo issue, but most (not all) Blu-ray .......

A greater "richness" and dimensionality of the sound via DSD is, in summary, what I hear, as well. That is why I prefer it. Curiously though, it's PCM that sounds considerably louder into my Integra D .......

Which Onkyo? They do not all accept DSD. You should notice a large volume difference between DSD and PCM input. If not, then the Onkyo is forcing the player to transmit PCM via the HDMI handshake. ::: .......
