the stores would go out of business, and there would be no place to touch, feel, and listen to speakers. I think this is less of an issue with other components, but for speakers, which vary so widely .......

OK, I'm in between the ideas of rlw and bullethead. Firstly, to me, speakers are the #1 priority. This is because the amount of difference you can hear is much greater between different speakers than .......

yes, I bought mine used in 2002, which I think was or was close to the last year they were produced. Mine has been on 24x7 for these past 11 years with no problem whatsoever. .......

Disregard original post. I just found out the amp is fine, it is the preamp that is shot, so I just hooked up the computer via headphone output directly into the Bryston. I don't think I need a pream .......

I have that recording as well. I believe the Sony engineers concluded that the analog master is better than the digital master only recently. Amazing how better speakers, better amps, ICs, etc. reveal .......
