This is what I run: RCA black plate 5963 (50's) on the outsides with the rest all Tellies. I have other combinations too. A good one in the middle is also a Tungsgram ECC82 (12AU7) I have 2 of these N .......

I have been using the Willis Acutrac protractor ($50) for my arm and table for awhile now. It has all 4 alignments printed. An Arc protractor is a must for overhang and makes a huge difference for sur .......

A largish ferrite magnet on the lamp power cable. It never caused hum but just the cut outs especially at turn on of the lamp. The lamp is a quartz on dimmer. The point is line noise was eliminated. : .......

When I had my Cord HX DAC it used to drop quickly and spratic when I turned my lamp on. I put on magnets on the cable and it all stopped. Line noise. .......

The CXC is very good here the last 2 years!! With a Yggdrasil it beat my Marantz Sa14 ltd as a transport. Choose your Spdif cable carefully. Optical works well too using a Lifatec optical cable. ::: T .......

On bad pins and not so bad ones I use some #400 Wet and Dry sandpaper. No fluids. You can also use a Dremil tool (variable speed on slow) with the small appropriate polishing tips. Will come out like .......

Yes, I used a lighted magnifier when I was doing it on those tabs. This was a fix to a Transparent Performance USB cable which had a bit larger Ga wire in it. That's what they used. It was a "bitch"! .......

I have a CXC Transport and sounds quite good into a Yiggy. I wouldn't bother at all changing the RCA out for a BNC although I use the BNC on the Yggdrasil. But that's me. .......

I'm biased toward ladder/multibit DACs too. I have a Yggdrasil and like it very much. That Holo dac is really cool but no reviews anywhere yet. I don't think you can go wrong with the Schiit DACs. ::: .......

Schiit has done many things nicely in their DACs. The Regen works on many other DAC's out there. Problem is you have to try all these devices in your system. Or, go by what others are using and doing .......

I was using the Regen with the external LPS and is did not improve my Yggdrasil. It sounded a bit veiled. Sold it. Glad to get rid of all the flashing boxes extenders and extras. What's next? I use US .......

I am using Western Electric 16 ga its very good. As mentioned on Jeff's Place. Getting hard to find but there is 14,12 ga same style WE wire out there too. These replaced some pretty expensive cables. .......

Not familiar with WW or the DH but I also use Neotech but it is the NEI 3005 and is as described very natural musical. This is on phonostage. I like these cables. The rest of the system is all WyWires .......

Take a look at some of the Neotech offerings on "special" at Sonic Craft. I like these cables. System dependant of course. No affiliation before someone comes down on me. .......

AT OC 9ML MKII Tracking 1.6 here too. Back down on VTA a little. No sibilance at all in fact impeccable tracking on inner groove, no distortion. It doesn't sound cold or sterile here. Maybe choice of .......

No way of answering that question. You would have to listen for yourself. I just tried Neotech NEI 3005 and they were very good on my SACD, but that does not mean it will sound great on your equipment .......

I too just discovered the Ltd edition,juki has it on eBay. I like and use the mkll version with a step-up. Aparently available only in Japan. .......

I agree in all the years of being in this crazy stuff I have never heard a difference and I do nothing to dress cables here. It's dead quiet. .......

Spring loaded? Are you talking about locking RCA's? That is the only way to insert them. I don't care for locking RCA's some like the WBT are very expensive. .......

Yes I will second the Ken Willis Arc Protractor, very good I have had 2 for different tonearms. You will hear a difference aligned this way. .......

If it were my choice it would be the Thorens 320MKII/TP90, much less to go wrong with it. The 320 MKII replaced the popular 160 MKII if I'm not mistaken. .......

They do that until you have 20 good feedback totals I think it is. I got the feed back on one transaction. They held up the funds and took their fee. BS I called them and they released the funds. SOP .......

Dunno? Reading that again I would think both. I think shorter is better too with such low voltages. The Step-up is an inactive device. You can hear differences in cables in that position. .......

John,what cable are you using from the Step-up to your Phono pre? Must be shielded but makes a difference otherwise in sound too. .......
