OP, if I were you I would instead consider a horn loaded sub. Our fellow Asylum member Bill Fitmaurice has available a number of plans for good horn subs. I chose his HT Tuba horn loaded 25 Hz quarter .......

I agree with Ozzy. I triamplifly my speakers with one Class AB stereo amp and two class A stereo amps. The amps run hot, but they don't heat up the room. AC takes care of that. .......

Tight bass is bass that is tonally correct played by woofers that promptly start and stop when the signal does and is free of boomy room resonances. The best bass in my opinion is bass from good horn .......

It is impossible to answer your question without complete T/S parameters of the driver, but as a conservative old horn guy I find it unlikely. Trust your ears and/or an SPL meter. .......

I have always found it satisfactory to use high purity OFC copper wire without excessive inductance or capacitance to make up my speaker cables and use the same wire to internally to wire the speakers .......

The biggest improvement I ever made on my K-horns, back when I owned them, was to tri-amp them with a DEQX HDP-3. I Used a powerful Moscode hybrid amp on the bass, Cary 2a3 SET monoblocks on the mids .......
