It doesn't work that way. SWR measurements are made relative to an impedance. In ham radio, thats usually 50 ohms. But I had an analyzer that would also measure for 75 ohm. You're not really measuring .......

I used to do this; but there is an HDCD component for Foobar2000. As long as I disable replaygain so it's not modifying the PCM stream...it'll automatically run HDCD decoding. This of course fails on .......

I "gave up" on SACD discs as well.. I pop them in my PS3...get an image...play that image back in Foobar2k to my DSD capable DAC. The quality of the DAC is on par with some of the best SACD players I' .......

Bluetooth is not HD, it's not even any form of lossless. It should not be used for any kind of serious listening. It's ok for casual listening and times where convenience is important. But regardless .......

I use Foobar2000 with a WASAPI component set to "push" mode. This sounds fine. I know it's "bit-perfect" since my DAC picks up DoP streams as DSD; any change to the stream along the way and DoP fails. .......

Unless you know 100% for sure they are a pure DSD and pure PCM capture...then your test is flawed. If the PCM is converted from DSD...then what you're going to hear is how they converted it to PCM...a .......

You can demodulate amplitude modulation with just a diode. Literally...a diode. That's it. Diode strips the RF carrier leaving the changes in amplitude. It's essentially how an AM radio does it. ::: .......

I just want to point out...the purpose behind a balun is not for impedance matching. It stands for BALanced UNbalanced. It's actual use is to convert a balanced antenna system in to an unbalanced sig .......

It's a decoder. There hasn't been any HDCD encoding software released that I know of. It works...and it does do most of what HDCD claims. I've never compared the output to a real HDCD player. The Foob .......

It used to be related to disc spin-up during the first track. It would top a little...speed the disc up...and it would cause problems. Some rippers have an option to spin the disc up before extraction .......

One of Denon's claims with this is that there are no caps in the audio path, it's supposed to be all direct coupled. From what I can tell on the schematic...there are maybe one or two that seem to act .......

The $36 each quote was specifically for the power supply caps. The rest of the caps for the unit are far cheaper...the most expensive of those being the 1000@35V for the Nichicon FG series coming in a .......

AFAIK, the only countries that were using TV channels in Band II were Russia and other OIRT countries. An antenna with that kind of frequency range isn't going to have much "gain" to start with. Wide .......

I never believe *anyone* when they say they can get 20 watts out of a pair of 6V6 amps. I get about 9. This is based on the rough calculation of measuring the voltage across an 8 ohm resistor connect .......

For starters...all those 9 pin tubes have the same pinout...12au7, ax7, at7....a bunch use the same base configuration. So I can substitute an AX7 in AU7 sockets by just dropping them in. However AU7s .......

Better speeds with a new cable modem is due to supporting newer revisions of DOCSIS. My internet speeds drastically increased when my ISP sent me a new router...but Im nit 100% sure how that affects a .......

SO I'm just going to throw my $.02 in. Dolby A was used quite heavily on multi-track machines, but it really wasn't necessary on masters. You have to remember, smaller track width makes for more noise .......

This worked because your PS3 apparently already had custom firmware installed in the past. Even the link says "any cfm to 3.55"....any "custom firmware". But if you were running offical Sony firmware. .......

I've also been using mp3tag. It has some Discogs integration so you can pull album art and even retag. When I've done this, I've typically gone to Discogs and found the artwork they have for the SACD .......

You should be ripping directly to the PC using sacd_extract over LAN, therefore there's no 4GB limitation. That's only if you're ripping to a USB stick. The program's default operation these days is t .......

You can edit/split a DSD data stream and stay DSD. You can even do EQ in DSD apparently...and I think you MAY be able to do some amplitude adjustment. That's it. So if you want to do anything else...y .......

Actually its 352.4khz. 384khz is a more standard rate since its 2x 192khz. While Im sure its actually 24 bit...32 is maybe more common usage. DSD has 3dB of headroom beyond PCM...so you either have to .......
