I can't speak about your suggested pairing GL but when auditioning a pair of MG 20.7 in September I heard a great match with the newest "cubed" series. This was the "14" model with 900 W into 4 ohms. .......

In your situation I would look at things a bit differently. With a 90%/10% ratio of music to home theatre I would focus on getting the biggest baddest Maggies with true ribbon tweeters I could afford. .......

Never having heard the MG 3.7i I can't compare them to the MG 3.7. I bought the original 3.7 new and gave them about 6 months of break-in time. Often, I would switch back to the 3.6s for comparison. E .......

In my narrow room - 13.5 feet wide- I tried placing the mid/tweeters in front of the bass panels with about half a panel overlap as suggested in the T-IVa manual. I followed their advice and reversed .......

When I ordered a replacement ribbon kit for my MG 2.6R it did indeed contain instructions and enough corrugated foil to replace 3 tweeters. One ribbon was twisted but still sounding great when I sold .......

Since Maggies have such a long break-in period, my dealer was reluctant to even sell his MG 3.7 demos back in Dec.2012. Perhaps the 6 week wait also had something to do with his hesitation. In any cas .......

I am using the other "White Lightning" with my MG 12's. NO, not that kind of home brew white lightning! Great response throughout frequency range with no unnatural emphasis on any frequencies. Sweet e .......

Satie, I find my T-IVa's to have the same slightly warm mid-bass and mid-range presentation of the MG 3.6 and older Maggies. They do lack the last bit of high frequency detail presented by the 3.7 and .......

Hi Roger: I cannot remember the source but I once read that the Tympani 1U was the same as the Tympani 1A but that the " U " referred to an upgraded cloth. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can .......

I am currently powering my Tympani IVAs with the original version of the Bel Canto Ref 1000s. I listen to mainly acoustic music at reasonable levels and can't detect those edgy strident high frequenci .......
