I have an 859 sine they came out in 95 and after long searching THE best for me, was without doubt the B&W 805 ( not the current version!) This stood the test of time and integrates very well with the .......

OK, I have just tried like you said. Put a couple of 1uF in parallel (microwave oven type - 1000vdc....cause I have lots) and just like you predicted the B+ was just perfect. So the 2uf 1st cap did th .......

Its a 300B using EML300BXLS monoblocks I initially wanted to run it at 420v/105ma with -78v, Yes I know I could however run it at higher voltage, keeping the curretn the same..but..... the PTX I have .......

I am using a GZ37 into 15uf - so nt an option to use an alternative that has more volt drop. I reckon that dropping to 4uf would only loose about 20 volts. If I go lower - ie 2uf am I going to run int .......

If I have too much voltage at the first cap, is there any negative aspect to using a dropping resistor between the rectifier and the first cap of a CLC filter? I need to drop about 50v @ 120ma. ( a 41 .......

When powering up I am getting the speaker cones making large/excessive movements. This happens after about 20 sec.when the tubes initially are heating up just,as far as I can tell, when the B+ is bein .......

If one uses DC heater supply, say on a 300b - then is it not true that one side/end of the Kathode will be at a 5v differntial (higher or lower) to the other end........ergo - the bias will be differ .......

the reference uses KT90 tubes and these are not interchangable with the orchestra's EL34....and visa versa. I have changed the tubes and reset the bias on one amp and used JJTesla EL34L. No major chan .......

Yes you may use either a gz34 or gz37...however if you use a gz37 then you must change the input cap value.......if you use a gz34 then the b+ voltages will be increased by30 v. I might also add that .......
