Pi is a good route to go. If most of your music is on a PC then just load LMS on the PC. Use Picoreplayer on the Pi and you are in business. If you get a Pi 4 just connect to your DAC via USB and you .......

If you have a Squeezebox or Pi on LMS there is a plugin to give sine wave input at a range of frequencies. Very useful for testing or checking through a circuit with a scope .......

Last resort before data retreival. Place hard drive in a waterproof sealed bag in the freezer for 24 hours. Then power it up, can give you about 30 mins to get the data off before head crash again. :: .......

LMS can easily be run on a Raspberry Pi using picoreplayer (excellent free software) with the Pi configured so that LMS indexes music on another server on the LAN. So upgrading your server should not .......

Potentially should sound quite sweet. Have you got a variac to bring that valve setup up slowly so the capacitors have a chance to reform. Give it half an hour at 1/3 of volts, then half an hour at 2/ .......

Most DACs that have all 3 connections support considerably higher bit rate resolution by USB so I use USB as a preference. .......

Speaking as a Fisher owner I hope he can expand that wish list to include the iconic US 7591. I've had a poor experience with JJ tubes and a suspect problem with Electroharmonix as well. .......

With the Pi4 the USB output is clean. With most DACs the highest available input resolution is via USB. So USB is the best cheapest and highest quality way to go with a Pi. Wired ethernet and USB out .......

SACD's can be fussy to read. They often give the first sign of a failing laser on a CD player. Or it might just be a rogue disk. Try some other SACDs and see if they are OK. But you've found the sound .......

I use my Pis for playing music. Best is IQAudio daughter board. I can configure them with WiFi but I always think they sound better via a wired link Both music server and Pi are connected to a Gigabyt .......

I would say you are missing loop connectors that should be connecting signal out to processor in. Just connect these with a phono lead and the receiver should operate normally. Without them the Preamp .......

Cleaning routine of Brush with Carbon fibre brush, hand clean with Disc Doc fluid then rinse and dry before loading into the Ultrasonic. Single cycle of Ultrasonic cleaning for 15 minutes works fine. .......

Well I'm very pleased. The manufacturer of the machine suggested run it for a maximum of 15 minutes before resting for 5 minutes. So I ran for 15 minutes, as the records are rotating into the fluid .......

I have been experimenting with different bodies on a 103. Aluminum sounds pretty good but my current favourite is Cocobolo a hardwood used to make musical instruments. So I would go with a Denon retip .......

If your weight is correct I would suspect the turntable's suspension. Are the transit screws still screwed down? If it isn't floating the slightest movement in the room can make the stylus skip. BTW M .......
