Room bass modes can really muddy up the midrange. A speaker can be doing everything right on and off-axis, but room modes can make it sound terrible. I think this is why standmounts often sound better .......

The 3020V2 specs say that that the max input is 5.5 Vrms (based on 0.1% THD). Your typical CD player puts out around 2 Vrms, so you should be fine. .......

I've never heard of a Prokofiev work with that instrumentation, but his Op. 12 No. 7 is a piano piece with the subtitle 'Harp'. There's also Ode to the End of the War, Op. 105 (1945), for winds, 8 har .......

Vishnevskaya was well past it in that recording. It's painful. I do prefer the conducting to Gergiev's. I think I would suggest the Paris Opera video, though it has cuts. I would also suggest the vide .......

I think you'd have to be very jaded. And he did write at least one opera considered a masterpiece: War & Peace. It's difficult to stage, and in Russian. .......
