The original issue on Alpha 380 was as standard CDs. I have the set. It was never on SACD. Interesting news nonetheless that it is being remastered to surround. .......

I have bought and listened to all three issues to date and have the last part on order. I chose to get the SACDs because, on my system, the direct DSD facility provides the best sound to my speakers. .......

Atmos is fairly recent, like two or three months, the HiRes 4K part of it has been around for a while.Not all concerts are in Atmos but they are working on the newer stuff. .......

I'm now getting Dolby Atmos as an option on the screen but it then defaults to stereo. I think I have to wire up two more speakers to give 7 surround channels, then the Marantz 8805 should cooperate. .......

The big advantage of the Oppos is that they can provide a multichannel output via HDMI. Very few "other" DACs can do that. .......

The very best way is to send it to Ortofon for inspection. They will tell you exactly what state it is in. I did this with my two Jubilee cartridges and they returned them as both good for more hours. .......

My Jubilee rides quite low and I have simply changed the VTA to give a tiny bit of clearance. I would never set VTF to anything than the Ortofon recommended maximum which is 1.5g in your case. ::: TOP .......

I changed the mat on my Notts Hyperspace to an Origin Live metal-sandwich sort of mat. Heavier, smoother and of course it doesn't stick. Useful improvement in clarity when too used with a clamp or wei .......

I agree about the Klemperer 6th, it is a great performance and makes more sense than most of a curious work. The 5th is a tough nut to crack. Don't give up. Try Karajan. .......

I've tried a couple of ex-Decca Classics, Britten's Peter Grimes and the Solti Mahler 8. They sound very good indeed, also quite reasonable value. The Britten in particular is startlingly realistic. : .......

I'm just curious. Amongst those of you MCHers who have a processor with Audyssey, how many of you are using it for SACD and Blu-ray music and how many have turned it off and set the system to 'direct' .......

I must admit I never opened up an SPU (you're a brave man!) but I had an SL15E/II with the separate transformer and it certainly didn't sound like the newish SPU I heard recently at a friends house. B .......

The skew on the weights can't alter anything on the DP6 because it has two bearing points - it only alters things on the UP4 which is a unipivot. .......

I've got a VSE modded SCD777 and my turntable still bests it quite easily. As others have hinted - it is very easy to be better provided the vinyl is set up properly and is quiet. .......

Interesting - I don't remember it having any suspension. It was a poor man's 301 that just bolted down and had a big motor with an idler wheel. That's what made me think it would probably be possible .......

Does anyone know if the recommended levels for SACD rear channel set up is different to that for film sound? I ask because with my Denon AVP set up using Audyssey the rear channels on SACD often seem .......
