You can get (drilled for both) 2 and 3-bolt flange to 1-3/8" adapters at Parts Express, then you can look at a wider variety of good drivers, new or vintage. .......

Working on a 12" Infinity now. Magnet shifted and locked the cone up. Am usually successful in re-centering them. NOT saying that's what yours is doing. Chances are it was overdriven and got too hot a .......

Don't use the fake leaf cover crap, only the official Leafguard co. is the real deal. I had them, far superior than anything else. Does not rely on a mesh grill on top which plugs up and will need cle .......

Just to power a mobile rig on the bench, HAM radio or GMRS type thing. I may well just get 220 reg. like you said. I don't want to use a switching supply due to RF noise. .......

Yes, I know 6060, this is a POS compared to Astron, but would still like it to work. The trans. is a RCA SK3858. Put a 2-3 A load on it, still too high at 15.5V. Tha transformer is 17VAC no load. C .......

Was not a direct copy....close though. Throat was larger to be compatible with their own 8 ohm woofer. They also sold DIY plans for the horn. They also has some Nestorovic designs using two woofers... .......

Never had problems with RF noise from them since no motor brushes are used, but the cheaper units can hum and transfer that to the ceiling. .......

Seems like aluminum paint would be close, it has very fine aluminum particles in it for a silver finish. Can be had in spray cans or quarts/gallons. .......

I staple using 6" spacing never an issue. I've seen cheese cloth used on top though. Roxul is a good brand of rock wool, fairly dense and 2-3" thick panels. .......

I agree, Alum. is better than Ti. I have the large Emilar's with alum. and some kind of rubber surrounds, which fixes the work hardening/cracking issues. Who sells aftermarket JBL diaphrams made with .......

Carlsons Lab did a teardown of a UPS backup power unit that was making loud arcing noises. Problem was a failed solder joint at the main tranny winding, which used CCA. There ya go. .......

I have one of those larger Netgear routers, 10" x 10" x 2", has SIX antennas problem/glitch free for years, 30' away from wifi roku. Felt no need to hardwire, though I could. .......

I'd agree. But here on west coast, very few Dynaco products to be found, I've never really played with any Dynaco speaker. Lots of Advents, AR's, Cerwin-Vega's.... .......

Right, 800 not optimum probably, I'd do 1200 myself. ESS used a 10 or 12" woofer in 2-way, so had to do 800. .......

Nope, do a test and get back to me, put meter neg. on the neg post. open a cap nearest the neg. post. Stick the pos. probe in the electrolyte..1/4". You should be reading 2 volts. You go down the line .......

That extended range woofer has no problem with mids, if he adds a mid, will be too much and will have to re-do the x-over quite a bit. I'd put an L-pad on the tweeter though. .......

You can cut a blade slot on the head with a dremel tool with a thin cutoff wheel. 2nd best choice is to grind the whole head off. .......

Seems to me...seems to me, you'll have to remove that mesh is front and looks like 4 machine screws on the woofer. if they turn without backing out, the T-nuts are spinning. The fix is to pry up on th .......

Those are 1" throat bi-radial horns, something like 100 x 100 disperson angles. They may have later made a 1.5". but can't think of any. Kind of a small horn to run a 1.5" driver on. I'd prefer a 1.2K .......

If you want vintage EV, a Wolverine or SP12/12b would work, Don't expect deep bass, but mids should be quite good, and will work good in a 2-way system. .......

I think the 1.5V setting might be for testing batts. with a load applied which probably drain the small cell you have. The load is meant for AAA to D cell size. Just my opinion of what could be going .......

Would never use a polycone especially for a PA speaker. Though I do have a pair of MTX 15's with accordian surrounds that are polycone, more like a PA driver. .......

Get some black or clearcoat paint, spray back and front, you're good to go. I do that on most all my outdoor PA cabs. Use an Eminence type PA woofer, 2.5-3" coil, with smooth response to 2K, and work .......

Most every major grocery store here (WA state) has a drum at front to put them in, use it all the time. Also use for similar bags, bread, produce, etc. .......

May have been replaced with 8 ohm diaphragms, because 6.x is about right for that. If 16 as labeled, would be around 12 ohms. .......

You really should measure the ohms of it and compare to the good one first. But anyway, these can't really be repaired anyway, so you'll have to get a new diaphragm. Just pry it off, get a knife under .......

Please take the front plate off and verify that the top outlet has the main wires on it. Easy to do. Also see if the wires are on the screw terminals, not the "push in" quick connectors, which are are .......

I think I saw a metal gear cover replacement on e-bay as an upgrade. The bevel gear is sacrificial, to save the pinion I think. I've seen missing teeth etc. on some, common problem, not hard to replac .......

The older Kitchenaids didn't use plastic gear housings...which can crack under heavy loads. Also there's a bevel gear in there that can lose teeth and I've replaced a few in peoples mixers. So...if yo .......

Kind of rare, but the flex leads on woofers sometimes fray, causing intermittent crackles, or distortion. You can put bass signal directly on woofer to test it. I'd re-do the solder joints also. Do re .......

FYI, same deal with K-horn slot. Speakerlabs' copy used a 6" slot for their woofer which was not a K33. Probably 8 ohms also. I'd just use the kappa and not mess around with it. .......

Maybe you can go larger like a 12" woofer monitor if you fly them horiz., not vert.. If they won't get wet, you can use some cheap home speakers, obviously won't be powered. Careful with foam rot, .......

The Cinema horns came in 3 versions, 60, 80 or 90 deg. dispersion angle. 2360, 2365, etc. All CD horns. X-over usually 500 Hz. Though used in theaters, certainly don't need to be. I've seen them flown .......

I have a little 3/4 hp Ridgid (Wayne) float switch pump, specs are 45 gpm @ 10' lift. Quite a bit. As long as you don't reduce outlet size down to 1" or less I bet. It has 1.5" pipe thread. ::: TOPIC: .......
