I've had the Millenium cd mat for a couple of months now and am consistently amazed at this thing. When used on playback (on top of the cd being played), it brings out detail, extends the frequencies .......

I use the Nuforce 8.02 monos with a Don Allen custom tube linestage. I found the Nuforces to be too dry when using a passive pre (Sonic Euphoria). With the Don Allen, the sound is gorgeous: beautiful .......

Excellent review of an excellent tuner. I love mine. I've found that it benefits a lot from being powered through my PS Audio UPC-200 power conditioner -- clearer and more organic sounding top to bott .......

I think you were right: this was multipath distortion. I read up on it in the archives here. Then I moved the antenna around to different locations and found one where I get no distortion from any of .......

I just replaced a Sansui TU-217 (sounds great on strong signals) with a TU-717 so I can consistently pull in a weak station in stereo at 50+ miles. The TU-717 did the trick on that distant station. Bu .......

I had tried sorbothane as a turntable mat a few years ago and found that, in that application, it did muddy everything. In this application it didn't. Not sure why the difference. So far I'm quite hap .......

I'm getting pretty close to ordering one of these dacs, but have 2 lingering questions. 1) one poster on a DIY board said the output voltage is higher than standard, causing problems for some preamps. .......

I auditioned a battery-powered SI and found its tonal balance to be "tipped up" significantly. Didn't like it. A digital amp shoot-out organized by Danny Richey of GR-Research, and reported on his boa .......

I've got the high output Ack Dack; the high output was engineered specifically in order to mate with passives (which was why I got high output-- with all the hype, I had planned to go with a passive). .......

which is what I have (Don Allen custom tube pre). The results are magical: better bass & dynamics than generally possible with even very good tube amplification, richer harmonic texture than possible .......
