First I would make sure the compliance of the cart will match and work well with the arm. Otherwise I agree with other folks responding here. Ortofon Bronze could be a little more analytical and brigh .......

I recently moved from Europe back to the USA. Had some smaller boxes that the moving company provided and they fit LPs perfectly. Around 90LPs per box. I gave all mine boxes to the local record store. .......

A more expensive and higher grade cart is not always preferable. I have the Ortofon 520 and Ortofon 540. Yes, the 540 is more expensive and has more detail, but the 520 is more engaging and preferable .......

I have heard the AT 95E once and to my ears they have a lot of highs or very extended highs, and what I've been reading they are not that full sounding. Someone with AT carts please correct me. Nagaok .......

Doing a quick online search suggests that the cartridge is an Ortofon DN165E , which is a Ortofon 5E. I have the Ortofon 5E, as it came with my Thorens 147. Its a very thick and somewhat dull soundin .......

Still not working. Tech says there is a problem with the servo. He could use a servo from a Marantz 64 to control the laser unit, but it would not hock up with the rest of the Cary. So he is giving on .......

I once had a Stax SRX III with a 7 non-pro energizer. Enjoyed it for a while but my 30 year old Beyer DT990 revealed that the Stax mids were too un-natural and the detail of my DT990 was much better. .......

Many years ago, when I bought a used EAR p834 it came with a volume pot. Since I did not want two volume pots in the signal chain, I 'ONLY' removed the volume pot from the EAR soldering the 2 x 2 wire .......

Looks like it may be a tight fit, just like with other bearings. You may have some luck aligning the plastic part perfectly over the hole, then using something like a wooden dowel and carefully !!! ha .......

Had a similar experience when I first got my 16.5. So I got a circular saw, cut a 4 inch hole in the back and installed a 120 Volt fan from RatShack, blowing on the motor unit. Painted the exposed MDF .......

Actually one of the mods of the 580/600 is to remove that thin foam in the ear cup for more detail and clarity. I've done it one mine and prefer it without the foam pads. .......

I've been using Sennheiser 414 pads with the quarter mod, put on the Grado reversed. Loads of folks use those Grado pads, cut out a hole, size of a quarter, and then tunr the 'inside out' and put them .......

I never heard a Tekton speaker, but I used to have the Omega XRS 3. I always found them to be on the very detailed side. Not warm. Eventually sold them and bought some Hornshoppe Horns with that money .......

Some already mention that it is usually not the extra detail that causes harshness, but the driver or/and the amp. I do see that the Tweeter in the CM9 is an aluminum driver. I had metal dome tweeters .......

The CD player got looked at today and fixed as well. Turned out to be bad capacitors in the PSU. Due to age and heat in the CD player (tubed) some power caps had dried out and started bulging slightly .......

Sounds like the blur is caused by camera shake. Most likely you don't have enough light and therefore the camera has to choose a shutter speed that is too slow for you to hold steady. Some things you .......

Just received the 150 ohm resistors. Soldered them to a RCA plug. So far I prefer 75 and 150 ohm loading OVER no loading, since the loading takes just a wee bit off the edge, that the high frequencies .......

Hi tweakk; I don't think Hornshoppe produces batches of pre-amps. Horshoppe is pretty much a one man operation and speakers and pre-amps are made by order, which can be nice since you can have yours o .......

YEAP, 1973 shovel nailed it. The sound stage was very small with my EAR's internal SUT. Besides there was less bass and highs were off too. Makes me almost think that something is wrong with my EAR's .......

That guy was me. I could not believe the difference the CinMag SUT from 1973shovel made. I now have my own CinMag without any loading, going straight into the 37,5 Ohm winding. Sounds damn good to me .......

Thanks for the pointers. I was planning on using a sander to remove the scratches and than finishing it with polyurethane, but was worried that the veneer may be too thin. Your approach and the sugges .......
