Assuming you mean regular coaxial cable without any additional shielding that may not be connected at both ends, the answer is yes. Coaxial cable can be held to a pretty good tolerance during manufact .......

Here's the thing... Harmonics are integer multiples of each tone. Very simple. IM products are more complex. They might be as simple as Tone1 - Tone2. They also can be 3X Tone1 - 2X Tone2. Or, 9X Tone .......

There's another related reason. Most volume controls track relatively poorly between channels over the range of actual use. 2 dB variation is not uncommon and lots of pots track as badly as 5 dB diffe .......
