I had an RP-1 that I thought was great. I'd jump on an RP-5 or RP-7 but my cabinet isn't deep enough for their size. A silly reason, but WAF dictates the stereo cabinet for now. .......

Thanks for the many great responses. I think it makes more sense to try some EQ or possibly bigger speakers than look for what's probably a "flawed" design for a floorstander. My room doesn't help muc .......

Well, I'll try. Due to WAF issues, speakers are about 6" from the front wall, left speaker 3' from left side wall, right speaker 20' from right wall (which is the front door past my open dining room). .......

Roon has a DSP function with a parametric equalizer. I tried a small bump in the 100hz range and got something of what I'm looking for. I think my main problem is my large family room/dining room comb .......

As it happens, I never got the Gustard, I got a Pontus II instead. Very pleased with this DAC, resolving but smooth, very textured. I'm not a good reviewer but I regard it as a keeper. .......

My methodology is very simplistic. If a piece sounds extended on all ends of the spectrum, and doesn't emphasize one particular area of the frequency response, I regard it as neutral. My other preamp .......

Definitely looking at Hades or Athena. I think the zero gain will work in my system, especially paired with the Hyperion, and my streamer has pretty high voltage gain running balanced. .......

This is a Windows 7 machine, BTW. The choice tools each identify the Marantz driver, so it seems it does see the driver. How do you mean "reboot the server?" One other observation: The Marantz manual .......

The Modwright is the LS-100. Tough to say which I like better. The W4S is clean and neutral, very silky up top, nice bass. Modwright has some palpability missing from the Wyred, but the MW may also be .......

I've had both the Lavry and the PS Audio. I agree with Jnrich about the Lavry, his impressions match my own. Others may disagree, but in my system, I found the PS Audio and Lavry to be nearly indistin .......
