The Z-foils are good, but a mix of things is much better if you want good tone. I have an Xono that is fully packed with all Z-foils, at least 20 in total, in the signal path on both channels. Take it .......

This is excellent advice. Not only "authority", but the noise level seems to drop a bit. Even higher output amps with 50K uF / channel benefit with an increase. However, adding way more can be too muc .......

Took a little work but this was a very nice amp. The problem with it and the 700 was the meager capacitance of the power supply. I think the 400 was only 15,000uF per rail- this was the primary reason .......

This is not so much of an issue as the seating location is. It doesn't sound like a problem since it's centered, and more importantly not a deep space. Some people have problems with cavity resonances .......

Even if there are limited placement options. There are so many set up options. Buy a cheap USB mic, load REW on a laptop, spin the dials, and move them both around a little and you'll have much smooth .......

Of course that's a near field speaker impulse response, not one for a room but maybe that's your question. When used for room measurements, IR does not show room modal effects at different frequencies .......

This amp bears no resemblance to earlier Counterpoint amps being a completely different circuit design. It has only a pair of 6sl7s for input and a separate toroidal choke regulated supply for the tub .......

Actual voltage is 75 volts. 16 is the number of 10,000 uF caps, half to each channel for the output stage. Amp is a tube hybrid with 6SL7 inputs (separate PS) and bipolar outputs putting out 220 watt .......

Duelund's reputation is well deserved for sound, high cost, and being a real PITA for break-in. I ordered the .01uF silver bypass caps and will put them across that big 17.1 uF tweeter cap on the left .......

Let your PC do advanced math using REW to do toe-in and speaker positioning. Then you can actually see what you're doing and how it impacts the listening position's frequency response, waterfall decay .......

and get a cheap laser distance meter for exact speaker placement equidistant to listening position and walls. Forget a tape measure as not accurate enough. You will be very surprised at the results. .......

Actually the phono preamp gain is 57dB. Max gain is 71dB single ended and I've reduced it by -14dB with jumpers for a total gain of only 57dB. (I'll redo those calculations). I get the .26 ratio to ha .......
