The Cambridge is an excellent transport. It sounds better than my Rotel 965 used as a transport. The Rotel uses the Phillips CDM4/19, for what it's worth, but much different implementation. I doubt ho .......

My PC outputs audio to my audio system via USB. I also use the PC to Chromecast video (e.g. a Youtube video) to my projector, but when I do the audio is also cast to the projector and cuts out the USB .......

You could use two subs as stands for your monitors. Works very well with my Spendors. I use Isoacoustics minipucks between speaker and sub. I use high level connections and run Spendors full range. :: .......

No, the Tecnodec has a recess at the spindle so the record just sits flat on the platter. My Michell clamp just tightens things but has little effect on warped records. Anyway, I'm happy with the soun .......

Looks like all you need is a passive pre since the 834p's volume control is simply an attenuator. All modern DACs have more than enough output to drive an amplifier, and like your 834p, only need atte .......

I use Neutron music player on my android devices, and it seems to be able to do everything (once you figure out everything it can do). It is able to cast to Chromecast Audio with no problem without us .......

What didn't you like about the Mytek? That's one I've had my eye on if my Audiolab Mdac fails. That and the Benchmark. They both have an analog input which I could use. .......

So far, of the half dozen or so ways of streaming I've tried, my $35 dollar Chromecast Audio seems to provide the best results in terms of sq. But even there, the differences have been extremely small .......

If you're happy with TTs you don't need to change amps. In pentode (or whatever they call the non triode mode) I believe they put out about 40-45 watts which should be fine for 93db. I owned the TTs f .......

I think a dac with digital attenuation is worth exploring if your system is happy with passive attenuation. The digital attenuator in my Audiolab Mdac is more transparent than the high quality resisto .......

In my experience, music on CDs sounds better than the same file via computer, so if a lot of your music is on CD my recommendation is to start with a really good transport. No need then to rip your CD .......

My recommendation is to stay with 12ax7s, but not necessarily the original stock ones. If you have all ax7s now, or with the JJs on the way, I would stay with them for a while and get used to the soun .......

There's no harm in your trying them out, but my experience with the 834p was that versus the 12ax7, a 5751 in V1 dulled the sound. A 5751 in V2 sounded plain wrong suggesting that the RIAA equalizatio .......

I looked at the tube more closely. There's also a B1B on the side, and an F embedded in the glass at the bottom plus another symbol embedded in the bottom rim. .......

You were right. I just rolled a great tube (Rogers Canada 12AX7/ECC83) into V2. It made an enormous difference. Frequency extension was increased but the biggest difference was in increased detail and .......

Just rolled this tube into V2 in my EAR834P. It's an outstanding tube, labeled both 12AX7 and ECC83, with an additional code 36/61. Anyone know anything about it? Thanks. .......

such as the cartridge is pretty much unlistenable out of the box and the first few hours. If that was not the experience of people here who like the cartridge, then there are some pretty serious equip .......

I went to his site to buy some of the EI EL84s and couldn't find a way to order 10 tubes without incurring the six pound per tube postage cost which would result in a 60 pound postage charge. Any idea .......

My impressions came after about 20 hours of use. It's possible that the treble emphasis declined a bit, but the bass certainly did not fill in. I haven't found that small tubes like these ax7 types sh .......

Thanks. I was surprised too. I first compared the JJs and Shuguangs a while ago and preferred the Shuguangs, but that was when my system was very shut in due to poor cabling and the brightness of the .......

This may change, but after years of assuming that the grilles interfere, I've been listening lately with the grilles on. Imaging seems better, and bass more extended. The grilles' rigid backing seems .......
