Just switched transports in my system. Unplugged everything, installed new transport, replugged & my MF Trivista DAC is not taking the signal from the transport. Everything was fine before the switch .......

The cart came with a weight, um..is that what it is there for? Don't wanna sound too dense (though clearly I am) but will adding this weight to the top of the cart allow for higher VTF ability? ::: TO .......

I've finally installed my Clearaudio Sigma onto my 309 arm & commenced with the adjustments. The Sigma calls for approx 2.5g of VTF. And so I fiddled with my Shure gauge & couldnt get the darned thing .......

Thanks for the suggestions, but you pretty much answered your own questions. Yes, I use a variety of sources & yes, I will not use Y cables - kind of obviates the sonic benefits of using better equipm .......

A couple of other options to consider: I had the same setup & upgraded to the SME 309 arm=huge difference. A new 309 arm retails for, I believe, $1450 in these parts but can be had occasionally on eBa .......

I have a 6 month old 309 arm & noticed that the OEM SME screws that attach to the board (VPI acrylic) are already quite oxidized. I initially just thought the heads of the screws were just kinda brown .......

I emailed SME & they were pretty quick with their response. To wit: As long as the stylus/cart matches up with the protractor everything else should be OK. They made no mention of the bias issue thoug .......

After mounting my SME 309 onto my VPI armboard & ascertaining that the arm, when in locked position, was lying parallel to the ends of the board, I discovered that the arm didn't quite swing far enoug .......
