FYI: The 12FQ7and the 12BH7 are interchangeable. The 12AU7 is also interchangeable with those tubes. I have QS amps and for the 12 type tubes I use all GE. I use EH KT88 power tubes! .......

You need to know a few things. 1. Cartridge output 2. Gain of phono preamp 3. Input sensitivity of the amp If 1 and 2 are high and 3 is low then there should be no problem! .......

Those models that you list were the P3 not P3ESR. The P3ESR came out about 2010. I bought a brand new pair last year. You can still get the P3ESR new but they only come in Black. I have owned 5 pairs .......

The OP is looking for a stand mount sealed speaker. The last time I looked the ATC stand mounts are a sealed speaker. The LS3/5a speakers are a sealed non ported stand mounts. Am I missing something? .......

ATC speakers are designed with sealed woofers. Any LS3/5A type of speaker like Harbeth, Spendor, Graham, etc. have sealed woofers! BTW, I own a pair of the Harbeth P3ESRs and the small 5 inch woofer h .......

Good point. The Socket Saver raises the tube 3/4 inch higher. Might be a problem if there is not enough clearance. I use them in my amps that have no top cover! .......

I am very surprised that the SVS has no high pass filter. I have used this HSU high pass filter with a sub that I owned that did not include a high pass filter. BTW, some prefer running speakers full .......

Since your preamp has 2 sets of outputs you don't need a splitter. You can use the left or right input on each sub, it makes no difference. The LFE is used if you have a home theater processor. ::: .......

I had the same problem with my VPI. I would switch to another source when turning on and off to avoid that loud pop. It turned out to be a bad capacitor. You should return that table if you don't want .......

The resonant frequency of that combination is 7.4 HZ. That is on the low side so I doubt it will be the best. Give it a try and see if it works! .......

Many moons ago I used the MMT with a Grado ( compliance 20x10 ). I kept blowing woofers on my speakers ( Vandersteens ). When I changed to a lighter mass arm it fixed the problem. A test record is the .......

You have many options that you can use. This manual from a PSB sub should cover any type of hookup that you decide to use. I prefer not using the high pass filter in a sub and running my speakers full .......

It all depends on the cartridge that you are using. The Project has a mass of 11 grams. Do you know what the mass is on the Sumiko? I sure can't find what it is! .......

You should check out a LS3/5A type of speaker. They are a two way sealed design and placement is not critical. Harbeth, Spendor, etc,etc, make real nice ones within your budget! .......

I don't think you would go wrong with the JL sub. I use the D110 with my Harbeth P3 monitors and the JL blends better than other subs that I have used! .......

Many moons ago I owned a Denon DP- 60, the one that came with two arms. I sold it after a month. You should check out the Kenwood KD-500 and the Kenwood KD-600. Those will run circles around any Denon .......

There is a nice EAR 834P listed here for $945. It will accommodate both mc and mm cartridges. You should make an offer on it. Before you buy a phono preamp make sure it has enough gain for the cartrid .......

I use the SYS to attenuate the volume on my CDP and it is just fine. You can't go wrong with trying it. At 50 bucks it's a no brainer to give it a shot! .......

It is most likely the aluminum tweeter is the problem you describe. You would be better off with a more polite sounding speaker. You should check out British speakers like Spendor, Harbeth, etc, etc. .......

I forgot to mention that fuses come in different size dimensions. 1 1/4 x 1/4 are the normal size. You should make sure before you order them! .......

The voltage rating is 100-120. Any hardware store should have those fuses. Check the net for these brands, Little fuse, Cooper, Bussmann. Home Depot or Lowes might have them! .......

If you did not have that problem with other preamps, then the Cary is the culprit. It would need more RFI shielding. I've had the same problem with FM bleed over on another brand of tube preamp but it .......
