I am about to build a listening room. I have read that the Cardas golden ratio for room dimensions is 1 x 1.618 x 2.618 (H x W x L). Applying this ratio, the room dimensions should be 10ft by 16.18ft .......

Yes, I do have the same problem, but is usually fixed by tapping the remote lightly against the palm of my hand. But even when it does work, I must say that the response is rather wooden (pun intended .......

Unfortunately, I haven't tried NOS yet. But even the current production JJs I'm using now is much better than the stock tubes. .......

Bypassed the speaker protection circuit yesterday and by god, it does make a clearly audible difference. More clarity and details, better dynamics and bass definition. Worth doing. .......

The unit I had was a showroom demo unit which was fully run in. The Plinius is very musical, the most musical I found of the solid state amps I tried. But the fact remains that it was lean and noisy. .......

Roksan is quite neutral sounding (neither bright or dull), but somehow doesn't sound as powerful as its 120 watts suggests. It is also rather lean sounding although it has fairly tight grip on the bas .......

The 42 is a low sensitivity low impedance speaker, so you should buy as much power as you can. They're also slightly on the warmer side of neutral, so I wouldn't go with a too warm sounding amplifier. .......
