The EMU1212m has the best ADC there is - the top AKM one. The analog input stage needs upgrade of course (the Op Amps), and you need the latest version of the EMU1212m which has better layout and much .......

Not as far as I am aware. All SACD decoders require relatively large SDRAM to buffer the data. Same applies to DVD-A/MPEG decoders. Speed of the media is around x2 and is "slowly" changing at a consta .......

I have both players here. The SA-10 is nice, but the SA-60 has the edge. This is due to some differences in the topology, especially when it comes to Stereo. Also, SA-60 can give you DSD conversion f .......

As far as I know, Marantz never had their own transport or DSP. They were a "daughter" of Philips and then got spun off (or they quit, I am not sure). Then they were building players for a while using .......

You should be fine if you select "Source Direct ON". In this mode the Denon is "pure DSD" and the stereo DACs are fed directly from the MIX outs of the DSD chip. At least this applies for the 3910. T .......

The Sony DSD decoder in your Denon has a dedicated MIX outputs. These are Stereo (in Stereo mode) and MIX in MCh mode. The DACs on the Stereo board are getting the signal from the MIX output of the pr .......

In the stock Denon players, AL24 works with SACD only when "Source Direct" (in the on-screen menu) is turned to OFF. This converts SACD (DSD) to 176.4/24 PCM. I would not recommend using AL24 with SA .......

Dave, The digital attenuation in the Denon is done in the DACs digital filter. I have no idea what bits are shifted and how loss-less the attenuation is, but disabling the attenuation brings up 6dB an .......

Yes, there are Op Amps in all Burr-Brown voltage output DACs because they all have current stage inside which requires I to V converter. Of course, you can do much better than that with current output .......

The three Wolfson top DACs are WM8716, 8718 and 8740 which is their best. None of those 3 support DSD. Actually, they were supporting DSD, but that was "grounded" due to some issues. Regards, Alex ::: .......
