I paralleled four 100K 2W MF resistors on the anodes of the 6922s in my RTP3 preamp, for the sole reason that Allen Wright specifies 25K and there is no source I know of for this value, at least at 5W .......

Well, I don't know whether passive or active is necessarily always the issue - I use a phono pre (Vacuum State RTP3) with no loop feedback at all, and in such cases of course active EQ is impossible ( .......

I have a DIY RTP3 and I concur with Pat. Even though the RTP3 uses an active input stage, rather than a stepup transformer, it has plenty of gain and is extremely quiet, so should be able to cope with .......

I agree with Timbo - the Rega is a fine sounding deck (I had one years ago), but is nowhere near in the same league as the rest of your system. Here in Europe the P2 and P3 are great starting points, .......

It is safe to use 6DJ8-ECC88 in place of the 6922. Actually this isn't true, as the 6922 has a much higher anode-cathode voltage rating (220V) than the 6DJ8 (130V), so the latter may not last long i .......

I would agree wholeheartedly about the Debussy Images. I use "Fetes" as my standard system evaluation piece - if the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, then something is right! I also have the Meh .......
