Another couple of options include Dynavector or Ortofon 2M series. Currently use a Dynavector 17D3 on my P5 and a Ortofon 2M red on kid's P2. My P5 originally came with an Exact and is a good sounding .......

Add a standby switch on the center tap to the HV to allow the filaments to warm up before turning on the HV supply. As drawn, regulator is still warming up as the HV comes on so, tube is not in stable .......

Abel, May I also suggest a QSC RMX series pro amp. I use a QSC RMX1450 to power my MMGs. The sound from this amp is much better than its ~$400 price would have anyone believe. Best of luck in your sea .......

I would agree with mkmelt, its a Fisher. I have a 500C and the case is its twin - lip on the front, bottom cutouts, aluminum grill, veneer on plywood construction and legs all match. Too bad you don't .......

Have you considered just adding a standy switch between the center tap of the power transformer and ground? At turn on you can let the filaments heat up prior kicking on HV. At power off, you turn off .......

The cap's I have in my foreplay are Mil spec Sprague VitaminQ paper and aluminum foil in oil that I bought NOS from a used electronics dealer here in Albuquerque. IMO (don't want to get flamed here), .......

Have you tried paper in oils? I replace Auri's in my FP and it was like taking a blanket off my speakers. Auri's are a good cap but, can't compare with PIOs -AlbuquerqueAudio .......

Ward, The Sovtek is a really good tube to get your amp up and running and circuit fleshed out. Besides sounding good, Sovteks can hand a great deal of punishment. That said, I replaced them in my amp .......

Also, Don't shell out $75 for a pair of 6SN7's if you can help it. No matter how "good" the tube, it may not sound good to you or in your system! If you are tube rolling, make sure to check the prices .......
